  2. Interview. Once you’ve found a consultant that fits your needs, speak with them about your requirements and expectations. See below for suggested questions to ask before you hire.
  3. Hire. Choose a consultant based on a combination of qualifications, certifications, specialty areas, and personal fit.

  • What certifications do you hold? (Apple and Third-Party)
  • How long have you been in business?
  • Can you provide references?

Understand their skills and specialties

  • What type of services do you provide?
  • What is your specialty?
  • Do you offer remote and/or on-location service?
  • Do you offer training or ongoing services?

Become familiar with their business practices

  • Will you provide a written or verbal contract that outlines your services, payment expected, and timeframe for completion?
  • Will you provide a complete plan that identifies specific goals and milestones for the project?
  • How do you charge for your services: hourly or by project?
  • What are your rates? Do those rates differ depending on type of project or service?
  • What are your billing practices? What are your payment terms and preferred methods of payment?
  • Can we get regular status updates so I can keep track of the project progress?
